Configure an Additional IP Address

After ordering an additional IP address in the PowerPanel, you need to configure it on your server's operating system to make it active. The steps vary depending on your OS or control panel.

How routed IPs work: Additional IP addresses are routed through your server's main IP address and share the same gateway. You must not configure a separate gateway for an additional IP — doing so will cause network conflicts and may take your server offline.

Configuration by Operating System

Select your operating system or control panel below for the appropriate configuration steps.

Choose Your System
Windows Server
Debian / Ubuntu
CentOS / AlmaLinux
Using Plesk

On Windows Server, additional IP addresses are added through the advanced properties of your network adapter.

1.Open the Network Connections window — press Win + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter
2.Right-click your main network adapter (usually named Ethernet) and select Properties
3.Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties
4.Click Advanced...
5.In the IP Addresses section, click Add...
6.Enter your additional IP address and the correct subnet mask, then click Add
7.Click OK on all subsequent windows to apply the changes

Do not add a gateway in the Advanced settings. The additional IP will automatically use the main gateway already configured for your server.
