How to Configure an Additional IP

After ordering an additional IP address from the PowerPanel, you need to configure it on your server's operating system to make it active. The method varies depending on your OS or control panel.

Understanding Routed IPs:
Please note that additional IPs are routed to your server's main IP address. They share the same gateway as your main IP. You must not configure a separate gateway for an additional IP, as this will cause network conflicts.

Choose Your System
Windows Server
Debian / Ubuntu
CentOS / AlmaLinux
Using Plesk

On Windows Server, you can add an additional IP address through the advanced properties of your network adapter.

  1. Open the "Network Connections" window. The fastest way is to press Win + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter.
  2. Right-click on your main network adapter (usually named "Ethernet") and select Properties.
  3. Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" from the list and click Properties.
  4. Click the Advanced... button.
  5. In the "IP Addresses" section, click the Add... button.
  6. Enter your new, additional IP address and the correct Subnet mask.
  7. Click Add, then OK on all subsequent windows to apply the changes.

Do not add a gateway in the Advanced settings. The additional IP will automatically use the main gateway already configured for your server.
