Transferring a Domain

This guide walks you through transferring your domain to a new provider. The process is initiated in your PowerPanel and completed with your new registrar.

Before you begin — please note the following:
60-Day Lock: Per ICANN regulations, domains that have been newly registered or recently transferred cannot be transferred again for 60 days.
WHOIS Privacy: If you use WHOIS privacy protection, you may need to temporarily disable it to ensure the transfer process proceeds smoothly.

Step 1: Unlock the Domain

By default, domains are locked to prevent unauthorized transfers. Before anything else, you need to unlock your domain in the PowerPanel.

1.Navigate to Domains → Domain Management in your PowerPanel
2.Find the domain you wish to transfer
3.Check the Registry Status and make sure it is set to Unlocked

Step 2: Request the Auth Code

The Authorization Code — also known as an EPP code or transfer key — is a secret password that proves your ownership of the domain. Your new registrar will require this code to initiate the transfer.

1.Navigate to Domains → Domain Management in your PowerPanel
2.Click Details for the domain you want to transfer
3.Request your Auth Code — it will be sent to the registrant's email address on file

Step 3: Initiate the Transfer with Your New Provider

Once the domain is unlocked and you have received your Auth Code, you can complete the transfer on your new registrar's side.

1.Go to your new registrar's website and start their domain transfer process
2.Enter the domain name you wish to transfer
3.When prompted, enter the Auth Code you received in Step 2

Your new registrar will handle the rest and notify you once the transfer is complete.
