Domains
This overview explains how domains work at Server4You: registration and transfer, the 12-month term with automatic renewal, moving a domain to another provider and what happens to your email.
Domain Transfer
To transfer a domain to a new provider, you first need to request an Auth Code (authorization code) and make sure the domain is unlocked for transfer in your PowerPanel. A detailed step-by-step guide is available in our transfer article.
Newly registered or recently transferred domains are subject to a 60-day transfer lock per ICANN regulations and cannot be transferred during this period.
Email During a Transfer
A domain transfer only affects the management of the domain itself — existing services such as email mailboxes are not automatically carried over in the process.
Email services are not automatically transferred with your domain. You will need to set up your email hosting separately with your new provider after the transfer is complete.
Term and Renewal
You can register new domains with Server4You or transfer existing domains to us. Domains have a term of 12 months and renew automatically at the end of each term unless you cancel them.
Server4You does not offer renewal during a grace period after a domain has expired. If you want to keep a domain, do not cancel it – it will then be renewed regularly.
