How to Start Recovery Mode

Starting recovery mode boots your server into a special troubleshooting environment, allowing you to perform maintenance tasks like resetting a password or repairing a broken configuration. The process is initiated from your PowerPanel.

Steps to Start Recovery Mode

  1. Navigate to the PowerPanel and go to Hardware -> Server Management.

  2. Next to the server you need to put into recovery, click the Actions button and select Start Rescue mode from the dropdown menu.

  3. A new page will appear where you need to configure the rescue session:
Rescue Type: Choose between the Standard Rescue System (for Linux/Windows troubleshooting) or Acronis Bare-Metal Restore.
E-mail: This field will be pre-filled with your account email.
Password: Enter your desired password for the recovery session in the last two fields.

  4. After you have filled in all the fields correctly, click Next to initiate the process.

Important Considerations

Boot Time: It may take up to 20-30 minutes for the recovery system to load fully. You will receive an email once it is active.

Windows Password Requirement: When starting recovery for a Windows server, the password you set must be exactly 8 characters long.
