Starting the Rescue Mode
This guide shows how to start rescue mode for your server in the PowerPanel and which settings to choose. Use rescue mode to reset a password, repair a broken configuration or run an Acronis bare-metal restore.
Starting Rescue Mode in the PowerPanel
The entire process is managed through the PowerPanel:
1.Navigate to Hardware → Server Management in the PowerPanel
2.Click Actions next to the server and select Start Rescue Mode
3.Configure the rescue session on the following page
4.Click Next to start the process

| Rescue Type | Standard Rescue System For general Linux/Windows troubleshooting — reset passwords, repair configurations, check filesystems. Acronis Bare-Metal Restore For a full system restore from an Acronis backup. |
| Pre-filled with the email address of your PowerPanel account. | |
| Password | Set a password for the rescue session. This is required to connect to the rescue environment via VNC or SSH. |
Important Notes
Boot time: It can take up to 20–30 minutes for the rescue system to fully load. You will receive an email notification once it is active.
Windows — password requirement: When starting rescue mode for a Windows server, the password must be exactly 8 characters long.
