Before you can run any backups, the Acronis Backup Agent must be installed on your server. Once installed, it automatically registers your server with the Acronis Management Console.
The easiest method is the provided bash script, which handles all dependencies automatically. It works on Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, AlmaLinux, and CloudLinux. Log in to your server as root via SSH and run:
When prompted, use your Acronis Backup credentials — not your PowerPanel login details. These are the credentials from your Acronis activation email.
If the script fails or you prefer a manual installation:
For the latest dependencies and direct download links, always refer to the official Acronis Documentation — these may change between agent versions.
The recommended method for Windows is to download the installer directly from the Acronis Management Console on your server.

After installing the agent, log in to the Acronis Management Console to confirm your server has been registered successfully.

Your server should appear under the All devices tab once the agent is registered.
It may take a few minutes after installation for your server to appear in the device list. If it does not appear after 10 minutes, check that the agent service is running and that the correct Acronis credentials were used during installation.
For detailed agent requirements and advanced installation options, refer to the official Acronis documentation.
